Lab: Containment Release


Hi Everyone!

I have released a very short project I have been working on post game jam (approx. 2 weeks of dev time). After the game jam, I was in a mood to try and create a small new project from scratch again. What made this feeling even more powerful was a random reel over at Instagram regarding a puzzle based on a laboratory, and needing to destroy rooms to escape. Something about it reminded me a lot on the Bio Energy Lab Escape level in Syphon Filter 2, and I was just picturing the puzzle like a fast Syphon Filter level.

So I got to work on actually creating this concept. It was very fun to do, and it was also fun working with classic sounds from classic PSX titles. I m also proud of the fact that most of the core gameplay elements were coded (via blueprints) entirely from my end and got them all to work via troubleshooting and debugging. I am definitely more confident in my abilities using the UnrealEngine after this!

Whilst definitely room to improve A LOT, I'm happy with the results so far!

Now, I'll continue the Unreal Engine course so that I'll release that project when it's ready.
