Dead Under Devlog and General Update


Been a very long time since I made one of these, as well as to post a submission!

I was working on a project that actually took much longer than anticipated! But its soon ready for submission as well due around August ^^ It will be my actual first attempt at the "Survival Horror" Genre just to get my bearings on the game design cycle for those type of games!

I consider that project as my One Year true test since I started this amazing journey!

As for now; I actually decided to do a game jam to get my creative juices flowing as well, and so after the PixelJam 2024 theme was revealed to be aqua, my mind went racing!

I took major inspiration from Dino Crisis 2 Water Level as well as the general vibe of Dead Space in order to base my gameplay loop around this. Replaying Dead Space Demake helped tremendously to set the tone, and of course, replaying Dino Crisis 2 gave me ideas on what an underwater AI should be expected to do.

I really like how this one turned out, especially aesthetically speaking, I ended up liking the slow movement as it captured perfectly walking under immense underwater pressure. 

I would love to hear your thoughts on this ^^ And I would like to also wish goodluck to all PixelJammers as this is an unexpected big one!
